tips to get a close shave?Updated 2 years ago

1. Exfoliate
Gentle exfoliation is a great way to get rid of any dead skin cells and impurities prior to shaving and therefore supporting a super close shave. This is also a great step to add to your routine especially if you have in-growns or KP, as exfoliating helps to unclog pores and smoothes skin. Having the smoothest skin possible before shaving will help avoid nicks that can come from shaving an uneven skin surface.

2. Create a cushion
Apply shave pillow when shaving to provide you with protection between your skin and the blade. This step is super important in order to avoid any razor burn or irritation. Make sure to apply and shave as you go, to make sure there’s always enough cushion for the razor to glide smoothly across your skin.

3. Clean your razor/blade

Rinse your razor thoroughly after each shave to keep buildup or rust from forming on the blade(s). This will help the blade last longer and help avoid irritation and cuts on your next shave.

4. Moisturize
Make sure you provide sufficient hydration to your skin after shaving! Shaving by nature exfoliates your skin, and it is then that it is in the best condition to absorb moisture since there is no dead skin that can block it. You can also use shave pillow as a moisturizer.
